Diagnosed with Ectasia

Ernesto Perez, a 40-year-old from Sunrise, Florida, wore glasses since age 5. He thought his dream of visual freedom would be realized with LASIK. Unfortunately, after LASIK he only enjoyed good vision for 3 months, before his vision rapidly worsened. After numerous visits to various doctors, he was diagnosed with Ectasia (LASIK induced Keratoconus). He was told by surgeons to expect a 2-3 year countdown to a cornea transplant. In desperation, knowing he had many potential years to enjoy raising his 4 young daughters, he turned to the Internet. Ernesto read about Dr. Brian and felt a sense of relief. Weeks later he boarded a plane from Florida to Los Angeles. When asked about his goal, his reply was “save my corneas.” Today, 10 years later, Ernesto reports his vision in glasses is still 20/20 and he is so thankful that he doesn’t have to worry about a cornea transplant. Ernesto is another success story!
