Diagnosed with Ectasia
Ernesto Perez, a 40-year-old from Sunrise, Florida, wore glasses since age 5. He thought his dream of visual freedom would be realized with LASIK. Unfortunately, after LASIK he only enjoyed good vision for 3 months, before his vision rapidly worsened. After numerous visits to various doctors, he was diagnosed with Ectasia (LASIK induced Keratoconus). He was told by surgeons to expect a 2-3 year countdown to a cornea transplant.
