Brian Boxer Wachler, M.D.

Dr. Brian S. Boxer Wachler (Dr. Brian to his patients) is a highly sought after eye surgeon and is known as "The Surgeon's Surgeon" since so many other surgeons come to Dr. Brian for surgery on their own eyes - these doctors include eye surgeons, brain surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, and breast cancer surgeons to just name a few specialties.

Doctors representing all parts of the Medical Field commonly fly in from all over the United States and outside countries to have Dr. Brian treat them.  His patients also include many Registered Nurses and Pharmacists. Dr. Brian is also sought after by numerous celebrities, film and TV stars, famous musicians, professional athletes, CEOs, and government leaders.

Through family genetics, Dr. Brian was given the gift of an amazing pair of hands.  Many say he has "magic hands" or "hands guided by a higher power".  Dr. Brian's parents had great hands which they used as hair stylists and his father still cuts hair.  His uncle was a famous urologist surgeon.  The same genetic gift for hand and finger coordination was passed down to Dr. Brian which he uses to help people through a variety of microscopic eye surgeries, a number of which he pioneered.

One of Dr. Brian's special qualities is that although he sees patients from all "walks of life" (famous and non-famous), Dr. Brian is described as one of the most "down to earth" doctors people have met.  Everyone receives the same high quality of care regardless if you are a famous celebrity or a manual laborer in the field.  He has a special empathy for all people who have eye problems since his career mission is to help everyone who needs him.

Dr. Brian is founding director of Boxer Wachler Vision Institute in Beverly Hills, CA.  Previously, he was director of the UCLA Laser Refractive Center and Assistant Professor in the UCLA Department of Ophthalmology at the Jules Stein Eye Institute. He has an international reputation as an expert on Laser assisted in-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK), INTACS for Keratoconus, CK for Keratoconus, Presbyopia Implants, and other advanced refractive techniques.

He has published over 50 peer-reviewed abstracts and papers on Keratoconus, INTACS, LASIK, PRK, ICL, C3R® and RK in addition to 16 book chapters.  Dr. Brian was the chief editor for the Modern Management of Keratoconus published in 2007 and has made over 200 presentations at national and international conference on the subject of refractive and cornea surgery techniques and outcomes.  He has worked closely as an investigator with the Food and Drug Administration on many clinical trials.
