Dr. Clifford Segil
Diplomate, ABPN

Dr. Clifford Segil is a fellowship trained and Board Certified Neurologist who treats disorders of the brain, spine, nerves and muscles. He is in solo private practice in Santa Monica, California. He uses Providence St John’s Heath Center exclusively for his in-patient neurological care. Dr. Segil has a general neurology practice and has subspecialty training in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology.

Dr. Segil completed an ACGME (Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education) accredited clinical neurophysiology fellowship through the Neurology Department at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine. In this role, he was among the first group of fellows to be trained at their new Ronald Reagan Westwood Medical Center in 2008.  Prior to UCLA, he completed an adult neurology residency at the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California and at LA-County USC.  All of his neurology training was completed locally, which gives him an excellent working relationship with both academic centers.  He worked full time for the UCLA Department of Neurology before entering private practice, and continues to teach their neurologists in training as an Assistant Clinical Professor in their Westwood Clinic.  Dr. Segil was invited to teach the residents after he was awarded their Fellow Teaching Award in 2009. He continues to volunteer at the Venice Family Clinic which he started while he was in training in 2008.

Dr. Segil grew up locally, after moving to Santa Monica from South Africa in the 1st grade.  He went to Franklin, Lincoln and then graduated from Santa Monica High School.  He completed an undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut and then attended an osteopathic medical school in southern California.  Dr Segil lives in Santa Monica with his wife and three children who attend Santa Monica public schools.

Though Dr. Segil is a formally trained Neurologist who has completed post-graduate training at both UCLA and USC, his osteopathic foundations ensure he will treat you as a whole person.
